Even if they bring out a "new" model....how much you want to bet the Rotorhead shall be old time Bell stuff....and nothing along the lines of an articulated rotor head....or have all the rotors in the same plane....and certainly it shall have an even number of blades....either 2 or 4.
Quoted for posterity

Was slightly disappointed by Eurocopter unveiling the EC-130T2 as was expecting maybe the X4 to be unveiled?

Round 2 tomorrow!

Yes but it does have an improved ventilation system

Agreed, big disappointement.

With the 407GX, 429 + 500Lbs & Magellan, Bell does seem to be on a roll

Birddog; you mentioned something about the B417.

Is there any further info about this - a 407 with more horses - will it compete with the B3?

Which B3 do you want to compete with? The B3 or the B3e or maybe the new EC 130 T2 with the same engine as the B3e the Arriel 2D and enhanced performance? Will be interesting indeed, however slapping on a more powerful engine is not the only solution, what about Tail Rotor authority to accommodate the horses especially if you get heavy and/or hot and high? I would presume with a engine will come TR improovements as well on the B417? Good to see all the new developments at this years show!

Maverick Helicopters orders 50 EC130T2 helicopters

Papillon orders 20 EC130T2 helicopters

Blue Hawaiian orders 20 EC130T2 Aircraft

We have a winner for Heliexpo 2012...

Just saw some figures on the EC 130 T2 on a press release. MGB improovements so full hp of Arriel 2D used-952shp(not down rated to 750 I think ap the B3 thus 200shp more available?) thus major performance benefits. Max all up internal weight now 2500kg and external 3050kg. 70 Percent of airframe changed for strentgh and weight. New light interior incl seats and flat floor all the way. Tinted windows all around and a dual aircon circulation system ala 175. American EC to do full glass cockpit STC which will be available as retrofit and a 1500kg cargo swing! Arriel 2D 6000hr TBO and use less fuel for more horses than Arriel 2B1. Crashworthy fuel tank.

Would love to see one up close and the interior. Maybe thats the reason for the orders? Big performance improovements without weight penalties.

Would love to hear comments from those who get to fly and operate her.

If they are allowing more horsepower and more gross weight, did they do anything to the anti-torque part of the helicopter? Any changes to the Star-Flex?

On the photos the starflex head is the same-remember also on the 355 so within proven weights etc. The TR is off the 135 a mirror image so should be well within spec too-thats if you understand you are flying a fenestron not a TR so either a hinderness or a bargain(not gonna go into fenestron argument as there is enough flying). On the photos it is clear that different horizontal stab and looks composite instead of 350 one with added piece. Maybe changes to angles-dont know? Wish I did. Big change seems to be 225 anti vibration system to nullify buffeting hence the min 10kts increase claimed 145kts cruise. I just studied the photos and if you look there is a new bulge on the RH side lower panels. Dont know-maybe hybrid system fitted? Auto pilot but shouldn't need bulge in panels. 70% of airframe claimed new so we will only know once all reveiled.

Dont think it will have a 105 orders and so many companies involved if it didnt proove itself to those involved already-to many companies at stake to attach themselves to a farce?

I wonder what the going rate for those buses are per unit? Maybe they get one or two thrown in for free given its a multiple fleet purchase?
