Helicopters in Bali, Indonesia?

Greetings all,

After traveling to Bali (for recreation) for many years, the sight of the single old B206 down the end of Denpesar Airport has recently become more interesting. In the last few years there has regularly been an orange B412, an orange BO105 and more recently a red and white Dauphan.

Is anyone able to shed some light on who is operating them and for what purpose. My guess is offshore oil and gas (though the 105 has SAR markings), but would like some clarification if anyone can help.

Thanks in advance.

You may find that it's Travira Air supporting some oil/gas exploration. I flew with Travira recently in their float equipped 208 Caravans and I'm sure I recollect a conversation with one of the skippers about recent rotary operations out of Denpasar.

Air Bali

Air Bali (based at Denpasar) now has a new partner and constructing a new facility nearby,
they have 2 B407's and a B206L on the way and looking at the possibilty of BK117's early next year
their man on the scene is flat out hunting wotk throughout Indo.

"...the single old B206..." Belongs to Derazona and is on lease to Air Bali.

"...an orange B412..." Probably belongs to NUH and on a oil/gas support contract.

"...an orange BO105..." Probably a TNI (military) SAR machine.

"...a red and white Dauphan." No idea.

Thanks very much all.

Blaxtaman - you seem to be in the know... Has AirBali had a change of ownership hence all the new toys?

Bali Helicopters

I believe the red and white one is an EC155B1 of IAT.

Well, the EC155 is IATs, the 412s are Transwisata's, the BO105 is SAR/Navy, the 206 is AirBali/Derazona, and the Squirrel...that would be me then (Travira's).

Thanks again all,

Hey alouette, can I ask what sort of work you are doing with your 350? And more importantly, need any relief drivers?
