John, you're quite right.

I'm not going to mince my words here. Some of the comments are a cut above the rest, most are well thought out but some are off the calf - and heifer so clever. On the topside, I'd say. One or two deserve a medallion.

Not bad for this joint.

While you lot are chewing the cud some of us have work to do, others are cowering in the long grass awaiting the chop, and there are herds of them that believe all the bull they are fed.

I generally avoid this sort of programme anyway, they are far too homogenous and the pictures are too jerky - but the stuff that you see on David Attenborough's programmes really takes the brisket.

Question Hems 902 snapped skid

These Helicopter Heroes got a nasty shock in mondays episode when the 902 skid snaps underneath them while preparing for take off!

Is there no form of non destuctive testing that is carried out on the skids, especially on HEMS 902 a/c that carry out landings on rough ground?

How old was the a/c in question, and does anyone know what the CAA MOR outcome was? Are the 902 skids time lifed now?

Incident is 3/4 way through episode, after the para glider rescue.

The front skid appears to have been corroded and it is still being sorted out by the certification authorities as YAA pay the parking fees at Staverton. A triangle of trouble...... CAA.... AAIB..... FAA.... as everyone else sits and waits for their deliberations.... When they get round to an answer maybe the repair can be done. 3 months and counting.

The aircraft was ex- BP Airfast in Indonesia and had been grounded for a while.

You just cannot see through the paint to the trouble within.
