We've always taken these OMNI Resources along but generally used FliteStar IFR - JeppDirect with the low level charts from Jeppeson.

ATC is generally sided towards larger fixed wing trafic and generally have no idea on how to accomodate VFR helicopters (or really give a

) so it is best to get to know what the big planks in the sky would be doing so as to be able to follow ATC instructions....that is in the countries I have flown...
