R22 down in Sligo
from here
A team from the Air Accident Investigation Unit has arrived in Sligo to investigate an incident in which a small helicopter he two-bladed, single-engine helicopter came down in a field approximately a mile outside Sligo town yesterday evening.
The Robinson R22, a two-seater black light utility helicopter, got into difficulties and landed in a field in the Calry area near Hazelwood. Eye-witnesses said the small helicopter — which was carrying a 31-year-old pilot and a 19-year-old girl — appeared to get into difficulty for reasons which are now being investigated.
The two people walked away from the accident uninjured. Both were treated for shock at the scene. The helicopter was on hire from a company at Knock airport and the pilot is understood to have grappled to bring it under control before crash-landing into the field.
Gardaí and the Sligo Fire Service were called to the scene around 5.20pm.
The air accident investigation team is now at the scene and it is expected that the helicopter will remain in the field overnight.

"Come, Watson, come! The game is afoot. Not a word! Into your clothes and come!" Well done Sherlock.
I was reliably informed that the reason for the T cyclic is that it enables the pilot to raise the cyclic from his lap thereby allowing access to his lap . This can be useful, say in the event of having a 19 year old girl in the passenger seat who wishes to gain entry into the pilots pocket for a mint or other sweet ... this allows her to put her head down to the pocket entrance to see where the sweets are lurking . Birddog particularly likes this feature and is often to be found with his pockets bulging with all sorts of treats when he is flying .
I know your a bit too old for this sort of thing TC but generally only the young pups fly these things .

Haha - but you said you always enjoy a mint when flying...
Actually, if there is a 19yo in a robbie you must have the duals installed so you can use the T-bar as a shepherds crook if they need a bit of encouragement to hunt for mints...
Now where did I put my go-pro...
