Bond down on RAF

Of course, Bond was used to beatings. In situations such as this, it was expected. He would be softened up physically, isolated for a few hours in the hope that would soften him up mentally, and then interrogated. They'd probably start cutting things off at that point as well. He'd been here before. Not in this small room, not tied to this cold metal chair, not being beaten by this man... But nevertheless here, on this area of the chess board. Captured. From asset to potential liability. From operator to hostage. Bond spat blood and silently cursed the incompetence of the RAF helicopter pilot for the fourth time in an hour. He braced for the follow up to the hard right hook he'd just received. And that's when the man had smiled.
Which Bond did you think?

Yes but to be fair the RAF pilot didn't have the benefit of being able to see the radar picture during the OFFSHORE LETDOWN PROCEDURE. That was the navigators job and if only that transmission wasn't blanking off the picture on the nose as they appoached that fishing boat just off the coastline.

No such problem for the nose mounted, 'give the civilian pilot a look radar system'
