Laser 'pointer' arrested

Laser shone at news helicopter | Courier Mail

A 35-YEAR-OLD New Farm man has been arrested after allegedly aiming a laser at a Channel Nine helicopter last night. Fortitude Valley detectives charged the man this afternoon with “endangering the safe use of a vehicle by directing a beam of light from a laser”.
Police were notified of the incident after the helicopter’s pilot reported seeing a green light in the cockpit while flying over New Farm around 7.15pm last night.
The man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 7.
Good work

Just got part of the story on Sky TV. Terms like 'idiot' used to describe the bad boy...

That bad boy should join the Sea Shepherd crew so he can shine lasers at who ever he wants whenever he wants and get apluaded by the Oz Government..

Is that the only legislation to pin this dudes ears back with? What penalties does that carry? It's not the first time it's happened in OZ or elswhere, how do other countries or even states here treat it?
