Goodyear Blimp

Saw "Spirit of Safety I" heading up and down the Thames this morning looking quite splendid. I haven't seen one of these chaps in the UK for many years.

Did anyone chance upon it on the Heliroutes?

Ah, I guess that must have been what I could see in the distance flying up the Thames yesterday evening. Too far away for me to see clearly, thought it was either an airship or one of those massive banners.

you should have seen it at wolverhampton a few weeks back... Bouncing around in the strong gusty wind!!

Suprised me as I thought they were very wind limited. Has a very slow and steady approach though....

Apparently its flights in April are the first in UK airspace since 1999. I quite fancy getting a CPL(AS) rating now!

Good way of acquiring flying hours, if you fly into a headwind.........
