Concur with:
North Weald - the Squadron's always worth a visit & there are lots of interesting aircraft around the airfield;
Andrewsfield - very pleasant;
Stapleford - quite a few Gazelles & the home of many rotary machines over the years. Good cafe with a view of what's coming & going;
Earls Colne - you might be able to chat to the Air Ambulance team who live there!
Rochester - you may be lucky to catch some of the aircraft renovators at work (Fairey Battle at the moment, I think) & the cafe's certainly worth a visit - good grub, but the home-made (freshly baked every day) cake should not be passed up - unless you're a little close to MAUW!!

If you are downin the SW pop into Dunkeswell and I will buy you a bacon sandwich and a cuppa ! Fuel is reasonable to, dont go to Exeter, expensive landing fees and as for avgas - wow
