It is West of Algeria, North of Western Sahara and South of Spain. They speak Arabic and French and are mainly Muslim but you can get a beer. I can recommend Marrakesh for a holiday.

Joe Orton used to go there to pick up young boys (allegedly!).

I think INAER and Bristow have both operated in Morocco in recent years.

Morocco

Look indeed at Helisud, new shareholders since 2008

Helisud Maroc: l'Historique de la compagnie Heliconia Aviation.

Nice machines in Marrakesh (Squirrel B2, B4, R44, but quite some restrictions to fly/land off-site, certainly for a foreigner.

And then again there used to fly some German guys:

Cannabis Helicopter

The Civil Guard in Cádiz have recovered almost half a ton of cannabis from a helicopter which had been under suspicion of drug smuggling from Morocco. Officers had the aircraft under surveillance after it was detected taking off due south one night, without having filed the necessary flight plan with the authorities. It was followed on its return flight to Cádiz and seized by Civil Guard waiting on the ground in La Janda, who discovered the aircraft was carrying 400 kilos of cannabis as its cargo.
The helicopter’s two German crew were arrested, as were two Spanish suspects who’d been waiting on land to guide the aircraft in and unload the cargo. It’s understood a fifth person is also in custody and that five vehicles were impounded.

I was there in 1968 flying a Hiller 12E and a Ws55s3 out of Tan Tan and Tarfaya offshore to the Glomar Grand Isle and Glomar Sirte but I think that might be a little early for you

I flew around Morocco for about ten days last year in a helicopter from the UK. Quite a lot of form filling, prior permissions etc. Not sure if that is the sort of information you are after. Besides Arabic they understand French, some Spanish and cash

Thanks jimvegan, but I was referring to the current political climate over their as it's my neighbour. I wondered if Morocco was going the same way as Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, and if there were operators getting out or not working.
But these replies are ok too

washing insulators

There should be at least one German operator washing insulators in Morocco beginning May 2011. They'll be operating a H500.
