Civil Helicopters in Libya

I heard that Heli Union got two AS332s out of Libya during the recent disturbances.

Who else is/was operating there? Gulf Helicopters?

Bristow had two AS332 Mk1 in Misurata (130 miles East of Tripoli) last August/Sept - Haven't heard if they got them out OK

I'm told from a reliable source that Gulf Helicopters pax do need them on occasions for just that purpose. It is in the AP fail EOP's apparently.

Sitting on the rig, Resting up, eating, fishing, looking at films, reviewing the Internet and being paid.*

With fuel I hope to dash across to Malta when fed up.

Maybe not so bad, after all and preferred than being in Doha. Could be entirely off track though.

Ok then maybe they should have gone to Malta and then checked with HR re pay, a black Market 412 may be worth a dollar or two. Then reported helicopter lost in the ensuing confusion.

Looks like Libya's parapublic helicopter fleet took a pounding during last week's attacks on Tripoli Airport.

One Libya Border Patrol AW109E (5A-DTI) destroyed, another (5A-DTC) damaged:

And a Libyan Police AW139 (5A-DTP) damaged (note upper deck/fairing):
