Nice to see a VVIP being able to enjoy himself at the controls of his own aircraft. Can you see Barak or Dave being able to pop down to the country in an R44 ?

And having fuel flown in with a BK-117..... or was it just the "body-guards"?? (makes sence, as they would probably not fit in a second R44)

Threeblades,
Barak or Dave being able to pop down to the country in an R44
No, those are probably too important to be allowed to fly in a single-engine aircraft to start with. (there is a reason a President and his Vice, not flying in the same a/c) It's normally an insurance issue as well for VVIP's.
Another reason would be, that they don't even have a ticket (no need for it, as enough drivers around)

But I did see a cool documentary about King Abdullah of Jordan, wazzing about in a Blackhawk single-pilot stopping for coffee with the beduines as it pleased.
Now, that's more like it....

He has an impressive R-44 though, no questions about it. Probably the "El Presidente-edition"..... Hell, it may infact HAVE 2 engines then: (from the link)
Aeronautic experts consulted by Efe said that the helicopter owned by the Chilean leader is capable of attaining a speed of 300 kilometers per hour (186 miles per hour), can stay aloft for four hours and has a maximum range of 1,000 kilometers (620 miles).

Agaricus bisporus,

Eh, did you read the "stats" in the cut-out? or did you just catch "impressive" and R44 in the same post??
With basic knowledge of the numbers of the R44, you'll know those mentioned in the article is more than impressive...

160'ish kts in a 44 must be terminal velocity I guess

So, a little tounge in....
