Brilliant pictures, was this race just for EU vehicles and Rooshian Trucks.?

Would be nice to be able to see the whole gambit of vehicles with more of the specials types,
But good and spectacular photos, Thank you

Er, perhaps I'm missing something, but how can the Dakar rally which by definition occurs in Africa include stages in Argentina? Or has someone mis-labeled some of the pics? Or just moved Argentina to another continent?

They moved the whole Rally to Argentina/Chile a few years ago due to the increasing unrest in the Sahara, hanging onto the Dakar lable at the same time.

They ran a couple of Hummers as well.

Lovely flying though, very jealous.

I take my hat off though to those people who did the Dakar on bikes and quads, talk about made of stern stuff....

The internet coverage of the Dakar was a bit poor especially re the trucks. But FB had some cracking pictures.

Just a reminder that the 2019 Dakar starts 6th / 17th January, and will start / finish in Lima, with the whole race in Peru.
For us Aussies, there is a Holden Ute entered.
‘looking forward to the helicopter filming scenes

Dakar 2021: truck vs helicopter 🤔

Apparently the truck hit a bit of a bump, but what was the helicopter doing so close with the camera on the other side of the aircraft?

Dakar car, truck and bike race T28, filming from the air is integral to the race, same as the French bike race.

Not sure what the social distancing rules are over there but that might have been a bit closer than 6ft
