Mountain Ops career path and info

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some info as to how anyone with any mountain ops experience got into their respective job - i.e. training, first job, ensuing career path? I'm giving a presentation on mountain ops as part of my CFI course and want to be able to give some perspective from pilots with some mountain experience.

Don't be shy, whether you have 100 or 1000 hours in the hills I'd be interested to hear any stories.

Feel free to post any accounts (first hand or otherwise!) of hairy encounters or interesting situations.

Thanks everyone!
