MD-902 Explorer Photos

Evening all, a bit of an unusual request here! I'm currently working on a model of the MD-902 Explorer for a flight sim. I'm having trouble finding good enough images of the cockpit to work with. I've trawled through every website including Airliners.net but still can't find enough close up high-res shots of instruments and switches etc. I thought I might turn to Rotorheads to see if anyone can help me? Ideally I'd like a series of photos, perhaps from someone who works on one? Alternatively perhaps someone could suggest a friendly operator who would not object to me taking some photos? I'm based in Surrey/Sussex, but willing to travel to a certain extent. Happy to bribe with beer etc

Any help would be much appreciated! I've attached a couple of images of what I'm working on. Thanks in advance.

Aubrey,

I'm sure that your local Air Ambulances would gladly help you.
SUSSEX AIR AMBULANCE
SURREY AIR AMBULANCE

Along with a little donation, some chocolate 'hob nob's would go down a treat

Good luck on the project, keep us up to date.

Thanks SS, I think I'll give the Surrey Air Ambulance a call and see if I can visit them, they're quite close by too which is handy!

Thanks for your offer FNW, PM sent

Hi there,

There are photos at Hovercontrol.com - Helicopter Training and Simulation from a MD Explorer. Those are high resolution.

Here is the link;

MD-902 photos.

Hope it helps.

Also, here is the link for the complete list of photos, it might help others;
Helicopter Photos

Those photos are provided by Jordan Moore from Hovercontrol.

Best regards.

It wasn't me who travelled to America to attend the Centenary of Flight celebrations! And then make his crew look at the photos!

If the cap fits............................

That wasn't being a spotter. That was taking part in history, and I didn't show them any photos, just a video.

ISTR one Volrider, an occasional visitor to these forums, used to have a Microsoft FS Explorer which he completed as the West Midlands AO1/Police 41 of a few years ago. The aircraft it was based on (used to be G-WMID) is now your very own Surrey/Sussex Air Ambulance under its new reg.

FlightSim.Com - Basic File Search

Place "G-WMID" in the 'search for text' box.

Mr Volrider also did an excellent G-WMAO EC135P2+

Aubrey,
nice model, should be a fair bit of time/effort vested in such a piece..
Is there a reason why the windshields are rendered opaque?
Seems a shame when you have paid such attention to the cockpit (I assume they are not opaque from the inside.. )

Hi Sven, thanks!

The windows are opaque at present as the interior is not textured (painted) yet. Don't worry, they will be just like the real thing in time, these few shots, were really to show off the exterior paint work. It's a very time consuming job, hoping to get on to the interior textures in the next month or so, so I'll post more images in due course.
