Malabo?

Looks like I'll be heading to Malabo for the usual offshore work in a few months. Don't really know much about the place and don't know anyone who's been there. All I've gotten is 2nd and 3rd hand info, some say it's pretty good and some say it's like Nigeria only smaller.

Any advice from those in the know?

It's not as dangerous as Nigeria, generally speaking.

The malaria issue is serious - it is pretty endemic and the most serious variant.

Other than that best of luck, a guest appearance is ok but being there for any length of time is going to need determination.

And remember if the president is using the airport or the main road - you cannot and this naturally is enforced not by fines........

Not as bad as Nigeria, but can have it's moments of close resemblance.
All in all, it's Africa so hot, humid, everything bites and most give you some or another disease, specially the Malaria.
Mobil are very serious about their anti-malarials and will test you if they suspect you are not taking them so be a good boy and take them, besides being Doxicycline, it'll clear the less fatal social itches too.......

contact Brian Currie. He has just gone in as the new BM. Top guy. Spent a very enjoyable 18 months with him in Vietnam 2 years ago.
