UK VAT law change - money back?

The UK government has been forced by the EC to change its VAT legislation which currently zero-rates aircraft weighing more than 8,000 kg (17,636 pounds).

When tax laws are found to be incompatible with EU rules it is often the case that those who have been subject to the "illegal" rule can be eligible for compensation - for the damage suffered.

There is a group currently researching whether claims can be made by aircraft manufacturers / brokers / dealers who have been affected by the imposition of an arbitrary weight limit for VAT status. That means those selling aircraft under the weight limit within the scope of UK VAT.

Please PM me if yu are a manufacturer, dealer or broker and would like further information.

Regards

John
