Four people rescued from Caspian crash helicopter; two others stillbeing searched for
BAKU. July 12 (Interfax) - All three crewmembers and one of the
three Azeri oil workers, who were on board the Mi-8 transport
helicopter, which crashed into the Caspian Sea near Baku on Sunday, have
been rescued.
"The crew captain, the board engineer, the board mechanic, and one
of the three oil workers who were on board have been rescued. The search
for two other oil workers continues," a source at the emergency
headquarters opened at SOCAR [Azerbaijan's state oil company] in after
the crash told Interfax on Sunday.
The crashed helicopter was owned by AzAL (Azerbaijan Airlines).
Details of the incident are being investigated.
