TAKEOFF TUBE - Gazelle Helicopter vs Porsche 911 GT3

Saw this on another site.

I wonder how they actually measured the track of the helicopter , it seemed a bit wide on some corners.

On a tight course like this one, it might be close. On a longer course, the GT3 will blow the doors off the Gazelle!

Why do people ask such rhetorical questions?

Most 341's at IPS are hard pushed to do more than about 125 kts, quickest one I have flown would not go faster than 130kts almost all D and E 500's will do up to 135 to 140 kts ( has to be a good one for 140kts) s & L. I would suggest being consideably lighter and smaller they would out acclerate a 341 and i think due to a better rotor head and more blades would out manouevre one. I have no evidence for this other than flying both types, then again never tried to see which would outperforme the other round a car race track

Pointless. Try something real world like from my house in Chorley to my favourite pub at Whitewell.

Helicopter - 10 minutes.
Car - about 40 minutes on a good day.

No contest.

Not when your pilot is waiting outside the pub.

How long does it take to do the pre-flight checks, start up and shut down in a GT3 ?

Even with phoning for permission, fueling, preflight, warm up and shut down I'll be in the bar at least 15 minutes before the porker. I'll have had a relaxing flight. He'll have driven like a maniac. He probably wont get in the car park if its a nice day. He's likely to have points on his license, fines and nearly put his Porker in a ditch if he's pushing that hard.

Fast cars are just not much fun in Britain anymore. The oppressive government, mad road planners and overcrowded roads have seen to that one.

No contest.
