Media helicopter "lands in middle of crime scene"
A media helicopter has been critisised by Australian Broadcasting Corporation Media Watch program which aired tonight.
The program states that CASA enacted flight restrictions around one of the Victorian towns devastated by fire. The police described this town as a "crime scene" (as the fire may have been deliberately started) and so access was restricted to police and emergency workers only. No residents or media were allowed back into town.
The ABC report stated that that CASA lifted the restriction on Wednesday and subsequently a media helicopter landed with a camera crew and reporter who then began shooting on the ground around town.
The report stated that they were asked to leave by a detective.
CASA apparently reinstated the restriction.
Has the Media Watch program has got its facts straight?

I do know that one commercial station (not ABC) TV crew got thrown out of a town meeting about the fires, when they were clearly told before hand 'locals only'. The other news crews were patiently waiting outside and one even filmed it.
Can't comment on the flight tho'.
