Risk Management - Pilots vs Financiers

While following the thread on the Hudson ditching (I see SASless was there too), I found the following link - you'll find it interesting, Im sure!

Editor's letter: Fear of flying - Financial Director

I love the bit about flying into thunderstorms - says it all, really!!

I see the Bankers as being the guys who headed for Teterboro then discovered they couldn't make it.....with the resulting disaster they knew would happen if they ran short.

Rather than take a sure thing....they gambled on a risky alternative....and got it all wrong. (The Bankers)

Except, SASless, that in the case of the wankers, sorry, bankers heading for TTE and not making it, they would have been able to eject and leave the passengers aboard the doomed aircraft. I think the analogy is very, very good!!
