Surveillance Video of Helo Crash
Initial thoughts were VRS, but it does appear that he had flames coming from the exhaust before he hit the ground.
What are the likely consequences of seriously over-torquing the motor if you do pull wildly at the collective to arrest an increasing RoD?

RIP the pilot/owner, who did not make it out.

Wow that is nasty alrite. Is that smoke (or did he clip another tree) at the top right corner of the video before he comes down like a stone?
RIP to whom didn't make it!

WOW! Looks more than 2000fmp decent, which is 36km/h so this could have been maybe 35-50km/h impact, I must say I am impressed with the fuselage strength withstanding this impact.
My condolences to the pilot family, may he rest in peace.

I understand shutter speed often gives a false impression of RRPM on film but the RRPM does looks slow with quite a sizeable coning angle. This port engine appears to be smoking so to me it looks like an engine failure with overpitching. Also the right yaw as pitch is pulled prior to impact would indicate low RRPM as the tail rotor would have lost effectiveness.
The A109A and C are not particularly good on one engine when you're expecting the failure, when you're not they can be very unforgiving.
What I find disgusting however, are the sick comments on LiveLeak below the video frame. I truly hope the families of the deceased don't visit the site.
RIP
JJ

The comments are indeed disgusting - I tend not to bother reading them as there are always individuals who simply say things for effect. That's the world wide web for you, though .

There has been some suggestion on another forum that perhaps s/he hit a wire while coming in to land in the open space s/he eventually came to rest in.
Just some food for thought.
Looks like he intended to land in the open area on the left side and hit power lines coming in.
If you look away from the copter to the left as it enters the picture, you will see the lines snap and the poles bend.
That is what I missed the first few times I looked at it. I was concentrating on the copter, not the background.

Anyone able to translate this to English ?
