Tie down ratings 212 / S61

Hi:
Sorry for posting on such a boring subject;

Does anyone happen to have the vertical, fore, aft and lateral limits for the cargo tiedowns on the Bell 205/212/412 series and also the S-61.

I would like to know both the limits on the tiedowns themselves and the floor fittings. How many "G" at max weight are the fittings designed for - that sort of stuff.

No earth shattering need just it came up in discussion about installing things such as Ferry tanks or survey equipment on a temp basis and inquiring minds would like to know.

A reference to the info would be nice.

Nick??? Got any good stuff?

Thanks.

The max G loading determined by the FARs that the aircraft were designed to will determine the max load in pounds per tie-down.

The max load per tie-down should be in the Maintenance Manual and the Flight Manual.

From the Bell 212 Flight Manual:

Deck mounted ..... 1250lbs vertical and 500lbs horizontal per fitting.
Bulkhead mounted.....1250lbs at 90deg to the bulkhead and 500lbs in any direction parallel to the bulkhead.

I can't find any reference in my S61 training notes, but I seem to recall that they are fairly similar to the 212.

I seem to remember that the 212/412 floor tie-downs also have a rating of 1350lbs at 22 degrees from the verticle. which is great if you have the protractor handy when loading

methinks this comes from the sum of the two vectors, certainly thats how the maths works, how usefull it is is another matter
