Mechanical chinagraph (grease pencil) in Australia
g'day,
also posted this question in D&G, but seeing how it's a little more applicable to RW world, has anyone seen the aforementioned in Australia that is possible to buy (and not steal off the only person I know in possession of one) ?
The only places google search returns are in US of A and they do not ship to Australia. I've had more luck with finding hens teeth =)) although this is a tad more useful
just figured i'd ask the knowledgeable people of pprune before starting to stretch the friendship with my american friends.

Import a few boxes and flog 'em, could be the start of something big.

The Staedtler Chinagraph is the most common mechanical chinagraph I've seen, but have always been prone to breaking.
If you can get the refills then get an artist's 3mm clutch pencil and use the chinagraph leads in it, much nicer. At the risk of outing myself as a pen freak, my favourite (using Staedltler leads) chinagraphs are the Lamy Scribble and the Copic Nobby

AOTW- well, that's almost the plan, I've got at least 15 people interested in buying one, so if I can't find anything local, it'll have to be a relatively big purchase to justify the postages - first to a local US address, then here.
aeromys, I'm looking into it, but seems like too much hard work. you must definitely be a connoisseur =)) although i like the look of Lamy Scribble
warm ballast, I must be looking at those websites wrong.. film production supply companies?

Mmmmm...
Chinagraph ...... old technology .... and tends to melt in the "Hot" sun ....makes a hell of a mess!
For some time now I have been using those dry "whiteboard" markers ...in the cockpit .... you can make a real mess with them all over your maps,and windscreens and they wipe clean easily at the end of the sortie ...
....much better!
