Rotorheads calendar October 2008
This month’s calendar shot is from Alex Crawford, and the photo is courtesy of Central Queensland Rescue. Alex was the pilot of CQR’s 412 Classic picking up a casualty from the Intrepid Resolute at Hay Point Anchorage, south of Mackay, North Queensland.
I received a splendid number of calendar photos, so if your photo was sent in, be patient and I’ll be sure to use it in the coming months

As always, for Windows users click on the thumbnail to open a higher resolution full picture, and then right click to select “Set as Background”. Mac users should select the background via System Preferences.

VH-NSV Trivia
Not quite sure what the blur is but definitely not a cover.
But on a trivial note (for all F1 fans around the globe) this particular 412 was on duty the day Mika Hakkinen crashed at great speed into a barrier at the Adelaide grand prix some years ago. He was quickly transported to the local Hospital with major head injury's. He Made a full recovery and then came back to the base at a later date, he signed and said thanks from the flying Fin, on the back wall of the Oxygen Bay. It is still clearly visable today.
Nice!

I remember NSV back when bout 16 and first got my car licence... I would drive to the then Lloyds helipad, and spend hours waiting by the fence for her to return or take off... The 412 always amazes me, its like the hummer of helicopters
That was in its former SGIC Rescue 1 paint tho... Awesome machine, good to see its still flying and being enjoyed
