Police Heli Crew up for GMTV Award
Well I was gonna say go to http://www.gm.tv/index.cfm?articleID=30757
......and help the Derbyshire Police ASU win the Emergency Services section in this years Pride of Britain Awards. But after reading the other entrants, I can't decide who should get it! Well done to all...they need 4 trophies.
Oh...and cue debate on jumping from heli's / winches on non-SAR cabs.

For the RNLI award I noticed the Coastguard Heli played a huge part but with no mention of an award. If that were the RAF then they would all have medals by now after numerous TV interviews!
Well done to all the nominees listed.

And the Derwent's tide suddenly came in - he is a big lad, eh?
In typical self deprecating fashion, Sgt Worthington was earlier heard to say that he had been nominated for the Derbyshire police's "Stupidity of the year award".
Well done Ian, you're a good chap, salt of the earth. You too, Graham.

Well done to the 2 bobbies!! A Sgt recently went into the mersey at 4am after a 'jumper'. He was really lucky to get out alive. Please be careful out there chaps......
when Wortho jumped in...
.....and a very brave man (and Graham too)
I had the luck in 1998 of buying a raffle ticket (£1) from Wortho; the annual Notts police prize draw. First prize; a Peugeot 106. (its just clocked up 125,000miles!)

Second prize: One with 150,000 miles.
But tell the whole story, Bertie. You swapped it for a boy racer version, IIRC.

Shame the bean counters don't take notice of things like this.....You can't put a price on saving a life and they want to reduce police asu's around the country.

Less to do with bean counters and more to do with politics, votes and taxes!
