Question Anyone going to Helitech Europe in Portugal next month?

Hi All,

Im considering going next month and would like any feedback from anyone who has attended before, (I've been to Helitech in the UK before) and if anyone has recomendations on where to stay etc? Also if there are a good number of Ppruners going , does anyone fancy organising somewhere to meet up for us all? ( I havn't been to Portugal before so don't suggest me!!)

Regards,

BC.

Helitech Portugal

Love to go (I have been to Portugal before!) but probably can't raise the cash for the trip. Would suggest the Estoril Sol hotel. Has been quite grand in the past. Faded a bit now.

Probably best to contact HeliPortugal, who were mentioned on this forum before, for a bit of advice as they are based in Cascais. If you fly into Lisbon it is an expensive taxi trip or a cheap rail journey (Portuguese trains are great) out to Cascais. Area itself is famous for the casino and the old Grand Prix circuit at Estoril which will be in use by the Historic Grand Prix circus the weekend before. Worth going for a week then?

Sorry if this sounds like an advert by the Portuguese Tourist board but I just love the place.

Helitech 2009

Estoril and Cascais are realy nice Portuguese towns next to the sea and well worth a visit. My Portuguese office is in Estoril and I am planning a combined visit to the office and helitech that week. Being on the Atlantic coast it can be windy and wet so make sure you are prepared. I have been in March before and it was like St Ives with horizontal rain and blowing a gale. It can also be hot and sunny

Estoril Sol Hotel has been demolish, but beside you can find The Mirage Hotel, next to the casino & Monte Estoril train station.
Have fun

Estoril Sol

Just goes to show you should base your advice on more recent intel!!
Rest of what I said stands. Makes a change anyway, turning up and your hotel being a building site in reverse!
