Accident Report Pubilshed for Enstom G-WSEC on 04 Aug 07

Just received this from the AAIU.

Fuel hose chafed through, engine failed in flight, aircraft burnt out, some 'paperwork' issues !

Fantastic reading, almost unbelievable stuff to think he'd over 2000 proclaimed hours!

It was put to me that he could pled he never knew he needed a license as he never took a course? What are the IAA going to do? Take away his license? Oh wait, he doesn't have one!

I know ignorance is no excuse but I sure got a laugh out of it!
On a serious point, what authority will he be the subject of? AAIU have done there bit, but will anything come of this report? (which I assume cost a fair bit to put together).

Why should we bother renewing our license and medical seeing as you get away with not having one? Oh I can't fly today, my medical is out and I might get ramp checked.... Was the machine was insured, but then again, what law says you must or do you just take the risk of getting sued?

I don't know if I should laugh, cry or be very scared...
