Any Gyro pilots out there?

Hi everyone in rotorheads forum.

I am a experimental gyroplane pilot here in the states. I just wanted to find out if anyone on this forum is in to gyros like me or is this forum only for helicopter pilots?

I don“t think there are many gyro pilots on the forum but I am one. Have about 30 hrs in AirCommand single seat and tandem gyro“s.

They are loads of fun but I haven“t flown them since “01.

I guess the age is getting to me, now a day“s I get nervous if I don“t have single engine hover capabilty in my Super Puma

Gyroplanes

Hi Tina,

Now you have another one you already know, as I'm type rated on the McCulloch J2.

I guess you also know over here we have Wing Commander Ken Wallis, who has no less thna 1 in his hangar, and he built them all!

Also one of his 'Little Nellies' is there. E-mail if you want a couple of photos of him with them.

Also the History Channel are doing a 30 minute programme of the West Desert event. They are using your video footage, which I assume they obtained from YouTube.

If not they owe you a fee!

Best wishes Tina,

DRK
Best wishes,

Dennis.

I swear that there's a typo (or two) in that statement...

I had one up until recently, built in Oz, single seat with Rotax 502.

Had to sell unfortunately but do miss her

Hi Aesir,

I talk with Dennis Fetters the designer of the AirCommand here in the states all the time. The AirCommand is a good machine, many people still fly and enjoy them.

Hi Dennis,

I would love, love to have a picture of Wing Commander Ken Wallis with one of his gyros, even better with 'Little Nellie'

The History Channel did call me and wanted the video I took that day, all of it, not just the footage on Youtube because there is more. They also want a interview with me. I told them I will do a interview if they take footage of me flying my gyro. They agreed and will come down to my airport this Thursday am and tape the interview and footage of me flying.

I am very excited about it and nervous at the same time. I hear they are doing your interview Monday. I will let you know how mine turns out.

I did not know you fly gyros too! The McCulloch J2 is a great looking machine but I do hear they can be a handful.

Talk with you later,

Tina

Winco Ken Wallis

Sorry for the typos ... Ken Wallis has seventeen WA series Gyroplanes at his home, and for Tina ... I'll download a few pictures from my camera and e-mail them to you.

If you dial up. LOOP.aero and sign in as a visitor, there's a five page article ln the January 2008 edition of Blades on the Wingco's Autogyros or e-mail me privately with a snail mail address and I'll put a Blades copy in the post.

The HC day went really well and they plan to include some plugs for the scholarship.

Speak again soon.

Best wishes,

Dennis K

Thumbs up I can't wait

Hi Dennis,

Looking forward to getting those pictures of Ken Wallis in my e-mail. I would also love, love a picture of you. If you have a picture of both of you then that is even better. I can't wait to see what you send me

Dennis if you would like me to mail you the hole footage of that day I can, just send me your address also in the e-mail and it's done.

I had my interview yesterday and it went well. They took a lot of footage of me flying my gyro which made me happy. I am so glad we both got some good out of this.

Keep Flying,

Tina

For Tina Tyler

Five pictures of Ken Wallis and his 'Little Nellie' e-mailed to you this evening ... also one of Mickey Mouse pirouetting a Schweizer 300! Let me know you get them OK.

Yes, I'd like to have a copy of the West Desert video footage if possible. I'll PM you the address.

Take care,

Dennis K
