Thnx for the reply, but althought in the AA web page they state they have a FDR/CVR for 412 series they told me on the phone that it would only work on a 412EP.

US operators have waivers for FDR for Bell 412s because there are none available, AFAIK. CVRs are readily available, though, and you should be able to take your choice of tape or digital.

IAC produces a superb HUMs system for the 412, which is the factory install on new equipment.

They are also completing certification on a system for a variety of other models. and types.

It will be interesting to see if all the GOM operators will install them, when they are available!

I would suggest the likelihood of these items being supplied to an Operator in Venezuela, is currently zero, however.

HUMS

Thnx for the interesting info, although I am looking for a FDR & CVR kit approved for a BH412HP and not for a HUMS installation.

Regarding the embargo, although they (the US) are very picky regarding the ITAR controlled stuff, most things are at our reach as long as the end user of the part(s) is a civilian operator. The issue affects primarily the military supplies, not the civilian.

Thanks a lot for your inputs!!!

Cv/FDR

Contact Bristow Helicopters, I am sure they have a fit that will suit at a competative price.

As you correctly observe, the ITARS issue is what is stopping everything moving. The dual use application of a Bell 412, will stop everything coming your way. I know, I used to do a significant amount of business in Venezuela.

Bristow & ITAR

Thnx Mtoroshanga! I will try Bristow!

Cyclic, I will not enter into a silly argument regarding the US embargo to Venezuela as I am the one dealing with it everyday. During these two last weeks we've been getting spares from Bell and other suppliers (Aviation Instruments, Gulf Coast Avionics, Southern Cross, etc.) for our 412's without a problem other than customs related. Next week will be receiving a Symbol Generator for an EFIS equipped 412EP and it is all coming from the US.

Like I said, as long as the end user is a civilian then it's all good.

Thnx for your good intentions!

If by "Aviation Instruments" you mean "AIS" in Miami, FL, then keep talking to them

They will help you out at the end of the day...

Top guys, helped me out on many an occasion when in the lurch.
