Who here would strap this on...
Hi All,
stumbled across this.
84' Olympics with a heli twist.

my question is, if the rocket tip blades quit on you is there enough blade to perform any kind of auto rotation? does the regular circa 84' jetpack have any kind of redundancy?
cheers

What goes up...
Looking at the animation and pictures it doesn't look too hopeful in the event of a failure. No collective pitch etc. That said, Hydrogen Peroxide motors are very very simple and as a result very reliable. The rocketbelt uses the same motor technology and there has never been a motor failure. And, at least with the rocketbelt, the flight time has never exceeded 30 seconds so the probability drops dramatically. Looks fun though!

I wouldn't. It doesn't allow the pilot enough flexibility to bend over and kiss his *ss goodbye.
