....no scandal...just crazy flying.......

from information of those affected.......Driver from the CR Scuderia Ferrari British GT team was running late and got the pilot to land closer to the paddock than the designated HLS.

Would have been ok if paddock wasn't full of cars and awnings!
Numerous cars pebble-dashed and awnings blown away - with subsequent damage to motorhomes and other equipment.

This was a reckless landing by all accounts and does nothing to bolster the reputation of helicopters.......

never mind possibly jeopardising future landing permissions for others!

Assuming helicopter was flying one of the Irish drivers that drive for CR Scuderia Ferrari in Brit GT?

Couldn't agree more!
Of course there were witnesses and evidence - whole paddock full.

Not forgetting that this is a rumour network - thought I would simply ask if anyone knew who it was or possible that pilot uses pprune.
After the CAA and Insurance company have finished with him - was hoping to invite him to one of the 'helicopter safety meetings' being organised elsewhere on this forum......
Agaricus bisporus, if you know him - perhaps you could do the honours?
Suggest you sit down in a relaxing armchair with a brandy for a while

I shall leave the 'taking it on' to those whose equipment and livelyhood suffered as a result.

Not known for speculating/prevarification.

Simply overheard in the office today such comments as "what the effing eck was he doing?" etc etc from people who were there warming their cars up for the next race.

Last thing I need is some numpty to spoil it for future events.............
