Crab!

Just read a copy of a local news paper from Crab's area.

Apparently HRH Prince William has flown in a Yellow Sea King for a 2 hr SAR training sortie over the Irish Sea. It was interesting to note that the article stated that the Sea King was the RAF's most "difficult and dangerous to fly" helicopter.

I now understand why Crab is able to pass comment on everything SAR on PPRuNe!!

From the sounds of the article....Crab must have been an un-named source for that journalist!

No, I just got to fly him in it. The photo was taken by a paparazzi loitering outside the wire with a huge telephoto lens and I think the Sun made up the screed that went with it in their usual, uninformed way. Sadly the N Devon journal were upset that we hadn't told them about the visit and just reprinted the same bo**ocks from the Sun with addition of our names, despite having been told not to!

When will William be on PPRuNe offering his advice on all matters concerning the Sea-King?

A senior RAF source told a national newspaper: "It speaks volumes about his natural abilities as a pilot."
Good choice of helicopter though!
