S-92A TR pivot bearing lets go, returns to the beach with vibration - here.

There's also a Bolkow incident, but that was a fixed-wing.

I know it's not a helicopter's but talk about flying yourself into an accident!

on21 - you beat me to it !
I find it amazing that people can be so foolish/ill-informed.
Crossing the North Sea at 500' and without talking to anybody - and that is just the start.
Equally as bad (but with a less tragic outcome) as the one the other month with the flight between Blackpool and Exeter

Not wishing to cast aspertions, but....am I the only to wonder if there wasn't more to this 'trip' than just a bit of sightseeing in Belgium? There seem to be a few clues in the write-up.

Now you mention it - indeed there are !
We will never know. Unlike the case a few years back in Kent where the guy stacked it in fog and the rozzers found a lot of hay on board.
