Do a google search or for previous threads on this forum for FAASA, HelicSA and Heli Sureste. Out of interest, Spain is the only country I have been to where they have a regulation in place stating you must be an EU citizen to act as PIC on a Spanish registered aircraft. I see you post from the US so this will affect you. Era has some 212's and 412's there which are still on the N register, last time I looked. They are contracted to FAASA who was using Spanish pilots to fly them. My info is a year old so it may have changed but I doubt it.

Your info on ERA machines is correct, there may be up to 6 212's and 6 412's operating this year for FAASA, as well as up to 5 212's from Abu Dhabi Aviation. The restriction on EU citizenship does not apply to fly these A/C, however you have to be profficient in spanish to operate in fire-fighting duties: FAASA does not operate with copilot/translators as did other spanish companies in the past.

Apart from the 3 companies mentioned on the previous post, you can google Coyotair, Sky Helicópteros, Hispánica de Aviación (HASA).

Oh! Lest I forget. There are several countries in the world that have even tighter rules as far as citizenship goes. In certain countries you can obtain a professional licence only after been a resident in country for 2 years (Peru) or you have to be a citizen of that country - period (Mexico, Ecuador).

But, 407TX, have you got a 'right to work' in the EU? (ie EU passport or existing work visa.)

If you haven't, then a work visa might be very hard to come by.

407TX,

Talk directly to FAASA (www.faasa.org, 34-957710460), as far as "the right to work in the EU", some foreigners are hired directly in Spain and the visa process is handled directly by the company.

Iffy Spanish

How strict are they with wanting you to speak Spanish? I have the right to work there... Just a thought..
Do all companies require that...
Thanks

There is a 212 on mallorca and a 407 on ibiza used for firefighting, but i cant tell who operates them, just that they both have a spanish reg. and that they are yellow
Helisureste operates two A109 on ibiza for ems, but i guess thats not what you are looking for.

You should contact these guys, atpl(h)/IR required for PIC.
