Heli Crash at Dade Collier Jan 23rd
Has anybody any information on the fatal heli crash at Dade Collier, Miami, FL? A brief news report says two people died after the helicopter flipped and exploded doing practice take-offs and landings. What kind of heli was it?

FAA Preliminary Accident Report say the aircraft was N18HB an R44 Astro.

The link will stop working at some point in the near future, if I remember I'll comeback and delete it when it does.

The weather wasn't a factor at the time of the crash. The aircraft was based out of Fort Lauderdale's executive airport. It had been based there a while.
One of the guys who was always flying it had a private certificate but plenty of experience. Not sure if he was in the aircraft.
The other guy that was sometimes with him was unrated.
Report of the aircraft flipping over and bursting into flames. Not much left to see on the photo's.
Poor buggers. Hope they didn't suffer.

Thanks for trying, IntheTin. I managed to find the names of the victims. The guy from Toronto was a friend of my neighbour. I don't believe he had a rotary wing license.
