Lowestoft

Morning All,

I am in need of some info - I have offered to take a friend to Lowestoft on Saturday afternoon, possibly for some lunch / visit some family.

So, does anyone know of any hotels in the vicinity with are suitable for a R22? Or nearest airfields / heliports (don't have charts on me at the moment, but Beccles can't be far - and isn't there some heliports for the rigs??)

Any info / gen gratefully appreciated!

Regards,

Craig .
(Praying for decent Wx!).

Craig;

Beccles is 15 min by taxi. I have a house close by and there are, as far as I know no hotels with landing facilities in te area.

Looking at the BBC weather you'll probably be driving anyway!

There's North Denes heliport (EGSD) just west of Caister, north of Great Yarmouth. It's a little drive from Lowestoft, and looks like it's mainly rig traffic. I've no idea if others can use it.

Check out http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=140093 - bit old, so no idea if the info's still true.

Not aware of any suitable hotels, but I'm always there for the airshow, and the Blue Eagles must park somewhere... Very good show by the way - seaside and Blue Eagles - what more could you want?

Let us know what you do in the end - I've often toyed with the idea of flying down to the airshow one year - maybe when the kids are a bit older.

Thanks both! I had totally forgotten about the Griffin Helicopters site - I have definitely bookmarked that now!

The weather does look terrible, which is a shame - I guess we will just have to wait and see....

Thanks again for your prompt answers!
