GOMEX Pilot Retention
A big operator in the GOMEX has recently rolled out a "retention" program (basically a 'small' pay increase) to try and retain their pilots, especially the newly hired with +/- 18 months with the company.
Are most GOMEX operators experiencing the same issue of pilot retention?

Our company (UPS) seem to have little clue on pilot retention. right now they are hiring less people than are leaving - and thats not by choice. I think the +-18 month thing is probably around the 2500 hour mark for those pilots. They stay and get enough hours and then move onto other jobs that allow them to stay home at night. The living conditions are border line acceptable in my opinion, and have been even worse in the past by all accounts. the small pay cut to stay at home is looking ever more appealing to me.
Our company has an EMS department but they won't let people out of the gulf to fill those positions, so good people leave and go to other companies. It is a very unusual case to be let out of the gulf to go fly EMS.
What is the company and what is the incentive?
