HAC 47-3 composite Tail Rotor blades

sorry i cant show photos , but will try to explain them 2 you.
they are the ones without the stainless steel leading edge..
the black compound either side is eroded , leaving 15-20cm in length and 4mm of composite chord exposed on the leading edge of them.
what do you know about them ,and are they in limits

I know this is an old post but I just happened across it. As you have described it the blades are not airworthy but new nickel leading edges can be fitted. The only caveat is that if the erosion has started to eat into the composite structure then they might not be repairable. You can contact the factory at 509-545-3137 or e-mail me at [email protected] with pictures and I will be able to tell you pretty quickly what can or cannot be done.
