I flew VH-BEU in Australia in 1990's which was, I think, G-BFER in antipodean disguise?

Ah thanks - G-BOEP. Always wondered what happened to her as I was told the UK register was the next stop after Australia. Lovely machine that I once flew from Perth to Sydney over an epic 5 days.

S61-S92 being in the Shetland, and older? You would know Tony hill? He and neen's told me many a story about the Shetland.
Is there anyone from the 70's and on that knew Tony on this forum? or anyone that has contact with them{Tony's mates that is}?

You blokes might enjoy his Navy days!

Are we talking about Tony Hill, with his wife Janeen, and Two sons, I think, Tony, and Dan.
If so we worked together in Port Harcourt, in Nigeria in the mid seventies. I was the chief Engineer.

If this is him, then please wish him and Janeen well.

The 'Lemon' Doha June/July 1977, note the suitably 'Offshore' attired gentleman in the back.

Can anyone here tell me if they remember an Austrian pilot who worked with us in Egypt in the mid '70s and was later posted to Dubai. First name was Franz, (wife, Traudi). Can't for the life of me remember their last name. Saw him once in Dubai in the mid to late '70s but lost track after that. Flew the Whirlwinds and 205 in Egypt and when I saw him last, I think he was flying a 204.

No but you have bought the memories back of the years Tony Hill flew the King of Saudi around and was based with Janine in Jeda.
Was anyone around for that interesting time?

Yes, remember him very well from Dubai, but like you the last name won't come, it will tonight at around three in the morning after a bottle of 'dubious red' when I'm thinking of something completely unrelated.
If I remember correctly he resigned from Dubai and was going to give up flying.

Thanks stacey, if it does come to you at 0300, don't feel you have to get up and respond, you may get into the goof again.

Would that have been Gerhard Trosch? His wife was named Traudi. He became the Commander of the Dubai Air Wing after he left Bristow. Sadly he passed away some years ago.
