CHC pay vs Bristow Pay

Been doing some research, trying to find out who offers the better package, pay etc...
Seem CHC at the moment. Any thoughts?

Clarification

CHC is the corporation, but the companies they control in Europe are the following:

* CHC Denmark: Approx. 28 pilots.

* CHC Helikopter Service (Norway): Approx. 140 pilots. Need approx. 80 new pilots within the next 30 months.

* CHC Ireland. Approx. 30 pilots.

* CHC Netherland: Approx. 55 pilots.

* CHC Scotia (UK). Approx. 160 pilots. Need to recruit numerous new pilots.

All these companies are independent of each other, operating in accordance with their national Air Operators Certificate.

Terms and conditions vary between the companies, in some cases quite significantly. Which company did you have in mind?

All companies have unionized work forces. The pilot unions have as members 90-98 % of pilots and cooperate within CHC Pilots Association (CHC-PA).

All companies have collective labour agreements with the respective company pilot unions.

Next CHC Pay negotiation = 2009.

Well to be more precise, there is no "scheduled" pay review, but the existing pay rise scheme ends 2009.

Hi,

Sombedoy was asking for experience and since I am also interested and am looking to switch from the military soon, I would like to ask you what do you estimate for a guy with the following experience to get in the companies like CHC, Bristow,..:

-Age: 32
-Flight experience: 1000 hrs on helicopters (B-206 160 hrs, B-412 160 hrs, AS 332/523 700 hrs), approximately 160 hrs on aeroplanes (Zlin 242 L, Piper Arrow, Piper Warrior) and a little less than 200 hrs on gliders
-Licences: CPL (H) with IR(H) rating(not JAR but ICAO) since our coutry has not implementad JAR FCL 2 jet(it should happen any time now!?), JAR ATPL (A) frozen (which involves CPL (A) and IR(A))-we already have FCL 1 in force for more than 5 years.
- Formal education: finished faculty for mechanical engineers (firs level degree) and faculty for the organisational sciences (university degree)

I would like to know the following:

• Is there a chance to get hired by one of the upper stated companies?
• What would be the salary (after the taxes are paied) ?
• What is the on/off cycle?
• Would I be able to get any seniority ?

I'll take a stab for CHC in the UK....

Chance of being hired - Yes.

Salary - With that experience you'd qualify for a FO position. With those hours, about 2200 UKP per month after UK tax.

Roster - Depends on the base. Some (or one - Aberdeen) do equal time, others are different. For Aberdeen you'll probably get towards 800 hours per year. Southern North Sea somewhere around 600 per year at a guess.

Seniority - Since the unions are present and with your hours and experience, it is unlikely you'll get anything more than a "very inexeperienced FO" level on joining. There are guys coming back to the company with prior offshore experience and in many cases prior command experience - they still start as FOs.

As a side note, you should expect to fund your own JAA IR transition - it's possible a company would fund it, but it's rare enough that it wouldn't be a good idea to plan on that.
