I flew many, many hours in Ant West's 500E before buying my Gazelle. I'm not sure how many hours you have, and there may be some restrictions on insurance, but I'm sure he'd be happy to self fly hire if the insurers are ok with it.
Whether or not you can, it's worth giving him a call. He's one of the most genuinely nice people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

im currently doing PPL at Barton , on completion will buy either R44 or 500 .
