AS350 damaged in transit

I've seen a press report dated May 1 with pictures of an AS350B1 LN-OPE of Helitrans AS which got squashed when someone apparently dropped a container on it at the dock side but since I don't know Norwegian that's all I know. Would welcome details of when and where it happened and anything about the event.

Such a pity.

From a local newspaper in Nuuk - unfortunately only in Danish.
I short it says that a container from the pile next to the helicopter fell down onto the helicopter. Not much about what caused the incident.

Well well – my Danish skills have come in handy twice in the last couple of weeks!!

A container crane on Atlant docks accidentally knocked a container down on top of a helicopter which was standing on the docks.

The crane puushed over a container which was sat on top of two other containers, causing the helicopter to be destroyed. The helicopter was standing in an open container.

“It is naturally regrettable, but it just shows that there is far too little space on the docks” said RAL’s Head of Marketing Ivalo Egede.

The insurance situation is not yet concluded, so the Head of Marketing was unable to comment on how much the accident was likely to have cost.

The incident happened last weekend

tc88biker, you're excused. When seeing the photo thought you may have forgotten the "Fragile - Top Loading Only" sticker.

Aircraft are meant to be flown and not carried on ships.
