Policehelicopter crashed at Innsbruck/Austria
Yesterday evening an austrian Policehelicopter crashed, obviously during A/R-practices, at the airport of Innsbruck.
The two pilots were injured.

Hi all,
due to portal.tirol.com a whitness said, the helicopter suddenly fell out of about 15 meters like a rock to the ground.
The copilot was able to leave the helicopter on his own and was brought away by rescueforces, while the pilot had to be flown out by an ambulance helicopter.
Speaker from the airport said, that the helicopter didn´t touched anyhing in flight nor were there any mid air collision.
Hope both occupants get well soon
a little further down was written, the pilot got spine injuries, the trainee pilot got away with slight injuries

It seems to have been engine trouble!
Einer der Piloten berichtete am Freitag bei der Einvernahme von einem Aufheulen des Motors. Ehe Gegenmaßnahmen eingeleitet hätten werden können, sei die 18 Jahre alte Maschine des Typs Ecureuil aus rund zehn Metern in die Tiefe gekracht. Der 36-jährige Pilot wurde schwer, sein 35-jähriger Kollege leicht verletzt.

More precisely overspeed of the engine. But don't quote me on that.
"aufheulen" means screaming now my limited knowledge would tell me if you can hear the engine scream it means it's gfoing faster than normal.
Give it time and the truth will be told. I wonder if they had the newer version of sets which are more crashworthy compared to the old ones?
But I don't fly the AS350/355 series so have only thirdhand knowledge.

Pilot and instructor 36-year old S. from Niederösterreicher, living six years in Tirol; due to Oberst Rudolf Gollia, from the ministery he has spineinjuries and a brocken leg. His college, who was trained, had only minor injuries to an arm. He´s 36-year old Helmut M.
