Nope. You're probably thinking of a video of the Bell test program where the chap (also, confusingly, wearing a fedora!) is thrown into the rotordisc...

Anyway, if you were to develop a helicopter in Vietnam, surely there are still plenty of old Bell components lying around in the jungle that one could re-use...

The difference is that the lower Helicopter is built by a household name in the field of rotary aviation and the first one has just been built in a field.

Come on chaps, did you never built your own go-kart out of pram wheels, wooden boxes from behind the local supermarket, a coach bolt, some nails and some rope??

I say, 'go for it lads, your chopper looks rubbery'!

Now, now, Sid. Are we talking about people crashing R22s or are we talking about elementary helicopter design, eh?

It's not like you to quote out of context...

Whilst not trying to turn this into an R22 bashing thread, coz I still like them.
However I'll see your 295 and raise you 636.

Igor's wrecks
I have seen at least one movie of Igor wrecking his prototype. Can't find it on youtube though.

Is there a difference?

Given these blokes, their love of helicopters (when they aren't shooting at them!) and their circumstances, I say it's just another example of human inginuety....go for it!
