Many years ago I had operated a Bell 206 B with a winch. I forgot the make and the wt limitation but it was electrically operated and the cable lenght is only 100 ft. The pax to be winched down from the front seat had to walk on the skid to be winched down between the skid. Not a very comfortable job

Tread carefully with a "Winch" on some of the lighter weight helicopters, because a winch is NOT necessarily a "Personnel Hoist". There is a difference. Most are NOT certified to carry people, except of course in an "emergency".

I concur with 800 in regards to the Breeze-Eastern hoist. The company I work for had one on a Longranger for quite a few years, pretty reliable units. The model you are looking for is the HS-16600. Go to www.breeze-eastern.com for more info.
