How long is your licence valid ( JAR )?
It seems to me, that in different JAR-Countries the valid-time of the licences are different for some unknown reasons. F. e. the licences in Germany are valid for only 2 years, whereas in other countries 5 years are usual. How many years are your licences valid ( according to Part IX in the licence )?

5 years. I believe 5 years is the norm in Nordic contries.
However JAR-FCL 2.025 gives leeway to individual authorities to allow valid time as they see fit. i.e. maximum 5 years!

Dear Mr Frog,
I think you will find that whe you renew your CAA ATPL(H) that it will only be for valid for a further 5 years,
the CAA changed all professional licences to 5 years back in 2000, even before they started issuing JAR ones, as my original CAA CPL(H) was for 5 years when I had expected 10, I phoned up to bellyache and was told all licences now for 5 years.
Regards

I renewed my 10 year CAA ATPL(H) earlier this year. The new one's only valid 5 years.
