R22 Hour building in USA

Any ideas for one of my students for the cheapest hr building on R22. She is willing to go anywhere in USA and has TSA and license verification already done.

Plenty of schools would love someone who just wants to build time. Ive done that at my school for a number of students from Europe who mostly just wanted to build time. (Long Island NY) We charge 222.80 an hour for dual time in the R22.

Is she looking for training, or just hour building? If she is looking for hour building and knows she wants a large amount of hours, I suggest she neggotiate a bulk time discount with a school, hey it can't hurt to ask.

Instructors love a student like that, its a great chance to go new places, so feel free to shop around because thats a hot commodity.

If she wants instruction then may I suggest one of the larger schools, Hillsboro Aviation, Helliadventurs, Vortex, etc etc. Well established, large, bigger fleets, good maintenance.

Rainbowair academy Long beach California. They have R22 at $168 per hour solo and I think Instructor time is $35 per hour. You will have to book in advance but they have online scheduling so its quite easy.

I had a FAA night Rating so i did quite a lot of my hours during the evening. Its a massive city and visual is superb so that helps with getting regular Time slots. Just make sure you have flown the city routes during the day so that you know what is actually in those black holes!

i went with boatpix - damn good experiencen and the cheapest you'll get. They do a lot of low level over the water if you like that sort of thing and most of their flying is ferrying - i flew florida to DC.

Someone above mentioned the FAA night rating. WTF is that?

I just finished timebuilding with an Italian lady here in Los Angeles Cali.. She was amazed at the busy airspace and the breathtaking low level shoreline transition we learn to take for granted out here lol! anyways, I also have a friend that does time building in the Bell Jetranger as well, he is booked up til April though - lemmie know...

I've tried a few but for the last few years have always returned to LA Helicopters based at Long Beach (KLGB) California. ( http://www.lahelicopters.com ) They have a good fleet of 22's and 44's and their own robinson approved maintenance dept. Long Beach is a busy but training friendly airport with a variety of experience like beachfront and mountains near by.

I have flown with Jerry Trimble helicopters in Oregon - can't recommed them enough!

They charge 184 $ ph for the R22 and offer a discount for hour building.
