MD Explorer Blade Retention Pins
I am trying to gather some data on the blade pin failures that have occurred over the years and would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of such failures.
I believe the aircraft manufacturer is stating that the failures are only occuring on the UK fleet - not sure if it is just the Emergency Services fleet or the UK fleet as a whole.
It would also be interesting to hear from anyone who has seen similiar issues on other types with any views as to what was causing the failures and what was done to 'fix it'.

Tbc, is that like a fine wine
Handy, the damn thing shot out the hole so quick I didn't have time to catch it, then again I've not got the quickest reactions. Really it was Dazza who spotted it any way, he noticed it sticking up as we were spinning the head looking at the flex beams. To then receive a call a couple of hours later from one of our northern collegues saying he'd found one as well was just a little worrying to say the least
Heli-eng................................ Thanks
