(AGI) - Turin, Nov. 27 - Two people died this morning when their helicopter crashed in Manosterolo di Cafasse, in the province of Turin. They were 52-year-old entrepreneur Giuseppe Airaudi, one of the co-owners of Robassonero-based company Airgreen, and a 26-year-old technician, Alessandro Cresto. The "Ab412" helicopter was on its way to the Valli di Lanzo where a mountain rescuing training operation was scheduled to take place. The causes of the accident are still unknown. The district attorney's office in Turin has started an inquiry led by prosecutor Sara Panelli. The area where the accident occurred and the helicopter wreck were placed under distraint. Fifteen years ago, Giuseppe Airaudi founded company "Airgreen" along with his brother Mauro. The company's fleet of helicopters eventually reached 15 units. One more today:
An A-109E with Italian registration crashed today in a Central Italy location, both occupants perished.
The helicopter was owned by one of Italy's largest Radio Stations (Radio Dimensione Suono) and the crew was supposed to pick up the owner, whom eventually did not take the flight.
The Pilot and a second person aboard were killed by the impact with the ground.
Three accidents and six fatalities in three days (the first one a privately owned and flown R-44 that crashed in the Venetian waters the day before yesterday).
In all three occurrences fog (sigh!) has been quoted as a possible cause.
Italy's CAA (ENAC), has issued a memorandum exhorting the operators to a more strict adherence to training and operational control protocols.
(They forgot to check that at least two of the helicopters were operated under what in the US would be Pt.91).

Well, there's obvoiusly an investigation pending.
Cannot say anymore at this time.
Unfortunately I knew the Pilot involved in the '109 crash (I-NRDS), he left his wife and an eight year old child behind.

That does not add anything new to what we knew, besides those translating websites are horrible.
Gee, the serial number on that '412 is decidedly ancient, I am flying 33017 and I thought it was the oldest one still around.
I believe we are all guessing the same thing but we need to have the official investigation report.
